Our Cat 03:20
Remember the time when our cat ran away we hollered her name up the neighbors' driveways & drove twice a week to the SPCA to check every cage full of kittens & strays & you made some flyers at Copies To Go with her cutest picture our number below & we hung from windows & telephone poles til I'm pretty sure we bummed out everyone we know & a whole month went by & it rained every day & most of our flyers got moldy & gray then somebody found her a few blocks away she was skinny & scared but she was okay & remember the strangers who thought they were wise who promised she'd be back & cats have nine lives & we'd try to act grateful for stupid advice cats don't come back sometimes but this time it was fine

about

The vinyl re-issue of a super-limited, monophonic lathe cut 7" from 2011, now with a bonus b-side!

From the original press release:

"Two more intimately claustrophobic home recordings by Owen Ashworth. Both tracks feature Rhodes electric piano, rhythm box, & vocals recorded to cassette 4-track with an extra track to spare. Mixed in mono. "Our Cat" is a true story waltz about a lost pet. The flip side is a 45 second cover of one of the greatest television themes of all time."

This new vinyl edition has been remixed & mastered in glorious stereo by Owen Ashworth, & includes a full band version of John Prine's "Christmas In Prison," recorded at the Daytrotter studios in Rock Island, IL by Mike Gentry.
